Nauja, a 13-year-old boy from Beringia, (the land connecting Siberia to Alaska during the Last Glacial Maxim) must take a manhood trek to bring a gift back to his tribe. The value of his gift will establish his place in the tribe for the rest of his life. Giant bears, fanged cats and other predators are around every corner. Just surviving is a constant battle
